Shashika Madushan - Dance Artist & Teacher

Born and raised in the Badulla district of Sri Lanka, Shashika Madhushan is a graduate of the University of Visual And Performing Arts. Under the guidance of Umeshi Rajeendra, Sandra Mathern-Smith and Venuri Perera, he began training in contemporary dance and joined MeshGround to expand on this study, receiving an opportunity to go to the University of Denison, USA in 2019 for a performance tour. Since then, Shashika has been an active dancer, artist and collaborator.

Over the years, Shashika has also taken part in dance workshops conducted by the German Cultural Center and has attended several choreography labs to further his artistry.  

Shashika is currently a teacher at MeshGround and a collaborator/dancer/artist at Mesh Dance Theatre. His teaching interest lies in improvisational creative practice, contact improvisation and contemporary floorwork.
